BOISE — Boise Police Department warns Treasure Valley residents of counterfeit bills.
Police said on Facebook page that they have taken reports recently from victims who received bills with Chinese writing on them, matching serial numbers and no watermarking’s, or even words highlighted in yellow that say FOR MOTION PICTURE USE ONLY.
There have been around 12 reports of fictitious bills so far this year, said BPD spokesperson. BPD encourage anyone who works with cash to take a close look at the bills they are receiving, especially $100 bills.
