Boise Police say they are searching for a suspect believed involved in an early morning shooting on the Boise “bench.”

The shooting took place shortly before 6 a.m. in an apartment complex parking lot in the 900 block of S. Philippi Street.

When officers arrived, they found an adult male who had been shot once. The victim was transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries, according to a Boise Police Department news release.

“Officers set up a perimeter around the crime scene and ensured there was no longer a threat to public safety. Evidence gathered indicated the suspected shooter had fled the area in a vehicle,” the release stated.

“Not long after, officers received word that another adult male related to the incident had arrived at an area hospital with a non-life threatening gunshot wound. Evidence gathered on the scene indicates the suspect and the two men who had been shot know each other,” the release added.

Officers say they have identified the suspected shooter, identified only as an adult male, and are attempting to locate him.

No further information was available.

The investigation is continuing.
