BOISE, Idaho — The Boise Police Department says an officer was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries after being struck by a vehicle while chasing a suspect.
According to a release by BPD, officers were near State Street and Fargo Street around noon on Monday, hoping to arrest a suspect on a felony warrant.
Police say the suspect, identified as 31-year-old Lantz Reeves of Boise, fled in a car that was found crashed into a utility box. Officers arriving on scene chased the suspect, who took control of an already-occupied vehicle and used it to hit the officer chasing them.
Reeves was taken into custody and now faces multiple charges, including Assault or Battery upon certain personnel - aggravated enhancement (F), Attempt to elude a police officer (F), Grand theft (F), Malicious Injury to property (F), Resisting or obstructing officers (m), and Contempt of court (m) – 2 counts.
The officer has since been released from the hospital.
