BOISE, Idaho — Boise School District and Boise Parks and Recreation announced they will offer limited, free childcare at four sites from March 17 to March 27. The idea is to ease the burden on parents who have to work and are in high-demand jobs like first responders and healthcare.

Sites will be limited to 24 children each. Priority will be given to Boise School District, Kindergarten through 6th grade students. Within the first three days of attendance, parents will be required to give a note from their employer that states their current work schedule. Registration will be available here starting at 4 p.m. Monday.

The childcare hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Breakfast, lunch and a snack will be provided by Boise School District food service staff.

Boise Schools and the City of Boise stress they will adhere to current CDC guidelines about hygiene for both students and staff. Each site will have a nurse available to screen students at drop off.
