BOISE, Idaho — The Boise School District made a clarifying statement Monday morning about the start of the fall semester. Last week, in a statement made to the Board of Trustees, Central District Health indicated that the district is currently in category three.

The Boise School District Administration said in a press release that if school were to start today, the recommendation would be to have all students in a virtual space and not physically attending school.

CDH has made no formal recommendation yet for a reopening category based on the proposed school start date of August 17. The district is developing metrics and will make a recommendation on August 3.

"We understand that this is a very stressful situation," said the administration in the release.

The administration is working with Central District Health and other health professionals to make sure decisions are based on the latest science and in the best interest, safety and welfare of the students, staff and community.
