BOISE, Idaho — The offense for the Boise State football team will be lead by a true freshman this year.

Head coach Bryan Harsin has confirmed Hank Bachmeier will be the starting quarterback for the upcoming season.

The Broncos will kick off the season on the road Saturday, August 31 against Florida State on neutral ground in Jacksonville.

"I hope our guys are excited about it. I hope they look forward to going out there and getting in that stadium and playing against Florida State. Florida State's got tradition and history and tremendous success, and everyone knows who Florida state is," Harsin said.

Dave Southorn from The Athletic will be sharing his expertise on the program with 6 On Your Side, outlining what to expect game-to-game in our series "On Your Sidelines".

Another area Southorn says seems to be solid as a rock is the offensive line.

"Now, all five of those guys starting at the end of the year, they're all back; they were all healthy in the spring," Southorn said. "I don't think I've ever seen that in the offensive line, so that consistency, I think, just the fact they're all there, they know each other, they have a good relationship, that will hopefully translate into Boise State to a better start."

Another plus this year, Southorn says the team is stacked with a lot of good receivers this season.
