This past Saturday, the Boise State football team snagged their first official win of the season. The Broncos who traveled thousands of miles to face Troy University in Alabama left the south with a jaw-dropping 56-20 victory. It was during their season opener that the Bronco’s also debuted a new piece of equipment…or should we say furniture. The “turnover throne” also made the journey from Idaho to Alabama and it caused quite a buzz making news all over the country.
Head football coach, Bryan Harsin joking shared in a press conference Monday “rule number one about the chair, don’t talk about the chair”. The “turnover throne” is exactly as it sounds, it’s a throne for any player defense who snags a turnover to sit back, relax and enjoy his accomplishment. For many players on defense it also motivates players to play hard and play smart, “you know at the end of the day there is a reward’, Coach Harsin.
With their home opener this Saturday on the blue turf, there is one thing the Broncos are committed to this weekend and the rest of season, "you know every game is training for something else down the road so we just try to make sure we're playing four quarters you know we're committed to that you know we decided that as a team, that's what we're gonna do that's what we're going to be”.
Boise State will face the University of Connecticut at Albertsons Stadium this Saturday. Kickoff is at 8:15 pm MDT.
