BOISE, Idaho — Boise State will now allow football fans to enjoy an ice-cold beer or hard seltzer during home games. The Idaho State Board of Education passed a new policy in April, leaving the decision on alcohol sales during college athletic events up to individual schools.
The change comes as Boise State Football prepares for an uncertain season as there have been significant budget cuts to the athletic department. Earlier this month, Boise State announced the elimination of baseball and swimming and diving teams.
Watching a game at Albertsons Stadium is also going to look different. Currently, the plan is to require masks in common areas and implement social distancing in the stands and tailgating lots. They will also be implementing a no re-entry policy.
