BOISE, Idaho — Following the success of the first pick-up and drop-off zone, the City of Boise will test a second zone beginning on Friday, October 25 and concluding on Sunday, November 24.

This new additional zone will be located on the south side of Bannock Street between 8th Street and Capitol Blvd. With this new zone, the city hopes to reduce congestion and improve the flow of traffic in front of nearby downtown businesses.

Similar to the first pilot program that was implemented in May 2019 on Main Street between 5th and 6th Streets, City of Boise Parking Services will test this pick-up and drop-off zone from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. As this testing period takes effect, downtown patrons are asked to park in other designated areas throughout the city during these hours.

Any vehicles parked in this pick-up and drop-off zone will be issued tickets by Boise Police Department and potentially towed.

If this second pilot program is successful, the city may choose to permanently implement the pick-up and drop-off zone on Bannock Street on Friday and Saturday nights.
