Boise Mayor David Bieter and Boise Parks and Recreation Director Doug Holloway are scheduled to be on hand Wednesday, Sept. 20th for a dedication of the new Molenaar Park in southwest Boise.
“The park features a new pond, turf and trees, and a new path around the 20-acre park. A parking lot has also been completed,” said Boise Parks and Rec spokeswoman Bonnie Shelton.
Property for the park was sold to the city back in 1994, at a substantially reduced cost, by the Molenaar family.
“The site was formerly a dairy farm -- and the farmhouse and outbuildings remained in use until 2012,” Shelton added.
The dedication is scheduled for 11 a.m.
The park, now open to the public, is located at 2815 South Maple Grove Road in Boise.
