MCCALL, Idaho — Officials at Brundage Mountain in McCall said Wednesday the ski resort will be opening the Easy Street Triple Chair for free skiing and riding this Saturday, December 7 and Sunday, December 8.

The ski area’s natural snow depths range from ten to sixteen inches, but representatives said snowmaking on the Easy Street run has provided enough extra snow to open that portion of the mountain for weekend operations. Easy Street is scheduled to run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

Snow is in the forecast over the weekend, with a second wave expected mid-week next week. Brundage Mountain will open additional terrain and expand hours as soon as snow conditions permit.

“Our snowmaking team took full advantage of low temperatures over the past couple weeks, so that we can open Easy Street for the season,” said resort spokesperson April Whitney. “Our next goal is to open upper mountain terrain and, the latest forecast shows Mother Nature is starting to get on board with that plan.”

The Easy Street lift (and Easy Rider conveyor, which is not yet open) are free to all ages, all season long. “This free access is a centerpiece of Brundage Mountain’s Learn to Ski + Ride Program. Highlights include the Beartopia Family Fun Zone and the 4x4 Learn to Ski + Ride Program, which offers four lessons and four rentals, PLUS a season pass, for just $249,” Whitney said.

Smoky’s Bar & Grill will be open from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Guest Services and the Fall Line Shop will be open from 9:30 to 4:30 each day. The Ski + Ride School and Daycare Services are also available with a reservation.
