A man accused of stealing guns from a Cabela’s in eastern Idaho has been captured following the release of a security camera photos.

Jace Chadwick, 20, from Afton, Wyoming was arrested by Lincoln County deputies following multiple tips from the public.

Chadwick was booked into the Lincoln County Wyoming jail on possession of stolen property charges with more charges likely in the future.

Detectives are working on collecting some of the stolen property as well as more evidence in the Afton area where Chadwick was located.

The burglary was originally reported about 11:30 Tuesday night, March 29, after Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to an alarm at the Cabela’s sporting goods store in Ammon, in eastern Idaho.

They say someone had been inside the building and took 16 guns, ammunition, and other items. “It appeared that the suspect had possibly been hiding inside the store until after closing, before gathering items and leaving,” said Sgt. Bryan Lovell of the Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office.

Investigators say the crime is similar to one that took place in the early morning hours of March 25, where two guns and other items were stolen.

Detectives are working to see if the two crimes are connected.
