Buy Idaho is gearing up for its 34th Annual Reception this October--all with COVID-19 precautions.
This year's event will look a little different thanks to an open-air market to encourage social distancing. The 34th Street Market in Garden City will play host to the reception, combining the Buy Idaho celebration and the monthly Foodie First Thursday event.
"We have been doing Foodie First Thursdays and celebrating the food vendors in the area and we've had a great turnout so with our climate and COVID and everything, we're going to keep it outdoors this year so it is safe," says Jennifer Mauk, Executive Director for Buy Idaho.
The reception includes live music, artisans, food and drinks, and a special guest speaker. While the event is free, there's also a special ticket you can grab to enjoy some extra perks.
"If you would like to buy a $25 ticket, that gets you a lanyard that will get you a special prix fixe menu from our food vendors so you can go sample Kula Connection's Idaho Eclair that's made with a potato," says Mauk.
The reception is set for Thursday, October 1 from 4 to 8:30 p.m. at the 34th Street Market and is open to the public. Businesses that wish to participate must be a Buy Idaho member. For more on how to become a member, click here.
