After a three hour standoff, the Caldwell Police have successfully taken the suspect into custody without further incident. The man arrested, 34-year-old felon Cody Burnett, was believed to be responsible for vandalizing a Caldwell home earlier in the afternoon, and thought to be armed with at least one handgun.

The Caldwell police have announced on their Facebook page that they have evacuated the neighborhood Walmart on Ustick Road, attempting to apprehend a wanted suspect who was seen inside the store.

Caldwell Police were alerted of an armed felon who had been involved in a dispute in the area, though were unable to locate the suspect where the incident had occurred.

At approximately 2:00 pm, a Walmart employee reported a suspicious man in the restroom who police were able to recognize as the suspect from the dispute.

The Neighborhood Walmart on Ustick was evacuated and the area cleared as police secured the area. A team of crisis negotiators are now in contact with the suspect. There are no hostages involved and all patrons and employees were safely evacuated.
