When teens and children lose a loved one, the feelings can be strong and hard to discuss. Camp Lolo, in Meridian, Idaho opened today, June 24, 2016, that helps young people under the age of 17 get skills they need to cope with life as they grieve and their feelings.

The two-day long day camp is free of charge to participants, and operated by a non-profit. The camp features a licensed social worker, counselors, and yoga teachers offering guidance and support beyond what parents and loved ones cannot usually provide.

The camp also offers a network of support to teens after the camp, so they can turn to people who can identify with that experience for insight and guidance.
