Authorities arrested an inmate only a few hours after he allegedly escaped from the Canyon County Jail Tuesday.

Records show 27-year-old Brandon Luna of Nampa was being held for multiple drug charges and carrying a concealed weapon without a license.

Sheriff Kieran Donahue said his officers set up a perimeter around the jail soon after the escape.

Police located Luna in a home not far from the jail. A police dog was used in the capture.

Luna was then transported by ambulance to a local hospital, for what appeared to be minor injuries.

In the past eighteen months, there have been five escapes from the tent facility involving six inmates.

County commissioners have repeatedly denied Donahue's request for more money to increase security at the jail.
