CANYON COUNTY, Idaho — Canyon County Sheriff Kieran Donahue announces he's seeking a third term in office.
Donahue made the announcement Monday. The 17-year law enforcement veteran first took office as sheriff in 2012.
"I'm a proponent of conservative values, proponent of minimization of these laws, and to make sure the laws we are putting in place have an absolute bearing and a reason for being there," said Sheriff Donahue.
Donahue also shared more details on a proposed expansion of the Canyon County Driver's License services and the planned opening of a new female inmate facility. Earlier this month, Donahue spoke at a state house gathering on amending Idaho's religious exemption laws.
