UPDATE: Marla Rae Vail was found Saturday, just after 7:00 p.m. near the Hwy 45/Bowmont area. She is currently being transported to a hospital in Nampa as a precautionary measure.

ORIGINAL STORY: The Canyon County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help in finding an elderly woman with dementia who was reported missing at approximately 10:00 a.m. Saturday morning.

Canyon County Sheriff's Office says a home healthcare worker failed to locate Marla Rae Vail during a routine visit to her home on Farmway Rd, northwest of Middleton.

Vail is 78 years old, and is described as 5’6”, weighing approximately 140 lbs. with brown hair and blue eyes. CCSO Detectives believe she is driving a truck registered to her son, Marlin, described as a midnight blue, 2005 Chevy Silverado crew cab, with license plate number, 2C UA004.

Canyon County Sherriff's says a neighbor reported hearing the truck start and leave the residence at approximately 1:00 a.m. Saturday morning when Marlin wasn’t home. CCSO Detectives also believe Vail took her Australian Shepard dog, Harley, with her when she left.

Anyone with information on Marla Rae Vail’s whereabouts, or the whereabouts of the midnight blue Chevy Silverado with license plate 2C UA004, is asked to contact their local authorities or the Canyon County Sheriff’s Office at (208) 454-7531. Vail's daughter, Tina Vail, has also provided contact, at (208) 504-7744.
