BOISE, Idaho — The Central District Health (CDH) Board announced Wednesday it will gather for a special meeting on September 3 at 5:15 p.m. The Board will discuss a petition submitted by a group of 10 Boise bar owners to CDH.

According to a news release from CDH, the petition asks the health department to grant 12 listed bars to reopen with "specific outlined prevention measures in place, including safety measures for employees, sanitation of facilities, safety measures for customers, and bar owner protocols for monitoring, tracking and reporting any positive or likely COVID-19 cases to CDH."

The Board meeting will be streamed live on CDH's YouTube page. Verbal public comment is not being accepted, only petitioners and associated representatives will be allowed to provide input during the meeting.

Two public viewing rooms that collectively seat up to 17 people will be available at CDH's headquarters. The Syringa Room has seating for ten people and the White Pine Conference Room has seating for seven people.

Six-foot social distancing will be required and face coverings must be worn. CDH says on their website anyone who does not wish to physically distance or wear a face covering will not be allowed to enter.
