ADA COUNTY, Idaho — A third case of COVID-19 has been confirmed in Ada County, bringing the total number of cases in Idaho to nine. According to Central District Health, the patient is a woman from Ada County under the age of 50.
CDH says the woman is recovering well in her home under isolation and reported only having mild symptoms that did not require hospitalization. She indicated possible travel-related acquisition and has no known association to previous cases.
CDH says new cases within Ada, Boise, Elmore, and Valley counties will be reported directly to the CDH website.
Meanwhile, in Blaine County, South Central Public Health District has a fourth confirmed case in a female patient over the age of 80. She is "recovering well in a local hospital under isolation," according to a Health and Welfare spokeswoman. Her point of transmission, she said, is under investigation.
Additionally, on Tuesday, Eastern Idaho Public Health announced the first confirmed case of COVID-19 in Madison County. They are reporting the individual as a "BYU-Idaho student in his 20s with recent out-of-state travel to a COVID-19 affected area." They said he is in his apartment in Rexburg, recovering from mild symptoms, and did not require hospitalization.
