UPDATE: Central District Health has made the meeting agenda and draft order language for the August 11 meeting available for review. The consideration to close gyms has been removed from the order.

In a press release, CDH says closing gyms was a specific recommendation from the White House report for Idaho counties in the 'red zone', which prompted the Board's request for draft order language for more consideration. Gyms in Ada County have not been found to be a significant source of transmission to date, according to CDH.

The full draft order, including limitations for group gatherings and a mandate for face coverings in Valley County, can be viewed here.

ORIGINAL STORY: Central District Health (CDH) is drafting language at the request of board members about a mask/facial covering order for Valley County and further restrictions in Ada County to include limiting gatherings and closing gyms. Right now, no decision has been made or voted on.

Several gyms in the Treasure Valley, including Axiom, Orangetheory Fitness Boise - Parkcenter and CYCLEBAR (Meridian Village location) posted on their Facebook pages asking people to email CDH Board members about keeping gyms open. Shu’s Idaho Running Company also posted something about the upcoming meeting on their Facebook page.

Public written comments must be submitted 24 hours in advance of the meeting, scheduled for August 11 at 4 p.m. Comments can be emailed to boh@cdh.idaho.gov or mailed to CDH Board of Health, Attn: Russ Duke, 707 N. Armstrong Place, Boise, ID 83704.

Once it is written, the draft language will be posted for review and written public comment on the CDH website. You can view the August 11 meeting on CDH’s YouTube channel.
