MERIDIAN, Idaho — To Jordan Risch, there’s more to pumpkin patches and Christmas tree lots than just making a quick buck. With Christmas tree lots in Boise and Meridian, Risch tells us that these seasonal side jobs are his passion and an excellent opportunity to connect with his kids and teach them about hard work.
With Christmas tree sales up this year across the Treasure Valley, it’s been a busy year for Jordan and his family. Jordan tells Idaho News 6 he started receiving calls two weeks before Thanksgiving and, as of Friday, has sold more trees compared to this time last year, and he’s predicting that by next weekend most if not all Christmas trees across the Treasure Valley will be picked over.
Jordan believes this increase may have something to do with families wanting to celebrate the holidays early because of the pandemic. According to different cultures and communities across the world, Christmas trees are a festive symbol of hope. Jordan, a horticulturist, says, “ it reminds us that life continues life goes on that’s why we use the evergreen bows even in the dead of winter to see that life is continuing life goes on, and this year more than ever we need to remember that.”
You can find one of Jordan’s Christmas tree lots at 5360 W Overland Rd, Boise, ID 83705 or 2365 E Fairview Ave, Meridian, ID 83642.
