BOISE, Idaho — The City of Boise is getting ready to welcome a new park!

Mayor Dave Bieter, Boise City Council members, Boise Parks and Recreation Director Doug Holloway and other special guests will be on-hand at the ribbon cutting ceremony.

The event will unveil the park's new name, which was chosen based on entries from students who attend Boise Parks and Rec's school-based community centers.

The new park is located in West Boise and sits on the former Sterling Nursery site at the intersection of Mitchell and Irving Streets. The park features turf, irrigation, a pond, pathways, parking lot and a fenced-in dog park.

The ribbon cutting ceremony is at 11 Friday morning.
