City of Boise re-issues public health emergency order mandating face coverings, social distancing

The City of Boise re-issued a public health order mandating face coverings and social distancing in public spaces.

The order, originally issued in September, mandates residents wear a face mask that completely covers the face in any public space and maintain at least six feet of social distance. Gatherings larger than 50 people are also prohibited.

The re-issued order goes into effect at 11:59 p.m. Friday and will remain in place until city officials end it.

"We will continue to work with our business community to enforce this public health order as we work to reduce the spread of COVID-19 and protect the health of our community," according to a statement from the city.

The re-issued order comes on the heels of a Central District Health board meeting where public health orders for Ada and Valley. Counties mandating masks were revised to public health advisories.
