The College of Southern Idaho Blaine County Campus issued a "Shelter in Place" warning via their Twitter and RAVE system for about an hour after a suspicious subject was reported near the campus.
A security spokesperson at the CSI Twin Falls campus says Silver Creek High, Wood River High and the CSI Blaine County campus in Hailey were all on lockdown starting at 10:30 a.m. Thursday -- meaning no one could enter or leave. All other schools in the area were on "lock-out" -- meaning that no one was allowed to exit.
Blaine County Sheriff's deputies and officers from the Hailey Police Department both responded to the scene.
There were initial reports of a "suspicious man wearing a hoodie" carrying a "suspicious-looking" item seen near the schools. It is unclear what the item was.
At 11:27 a.m., the lockdown was lifted and students were able to resume their classes. According to police, the suspicious item was a tripod that was being carried.
