Investigators are trying to determine the cause of a Garden City mobile home fire that sent one person to the hospital and killed several dogs occupying the home.

Heavy damage was reported to the modular single-wide home. Flames spread to several nearby vehicles and a shed.

At least one person was treated onsite for unspecified injuries and transported to a local hospital. The extent of the person’s injuries was not immediately known.

Police, Ada County EMS and crews from the Boise, Eagle, and Garden City Fire Departments were all on the scene.

The fire was near East 52nd and Remington Streets, near the Western Idaho Fairgrounds.

It took crews about thirty minutes to get the fire extinguished. Black smoke from the fire could be seen for miles.

The fire was first reported shortly after 1:30 p.m.
