Crews from the Idaho Transportation Department and the Ada County Highway District are hearing up for what may be a long night clearing roads.
With steady snowfall in the Treasure Valley, ITD crews have been working along all major State highways –- highways 15, 44, 55, 95, 20/26 and the Interstate.
ITD spokeswoman Jennifer Gonzalez says crews have been working since Thursday morning from the Idaho/Oregon state line to the Mountain Home area.
Meantime, Ada County Highway District crews are on stand-by, should conditions worsen Thursday evening.
ACHD spokesman Craig Quintana says, like the ITD, ACHD crews have also been out most of the day –- and continue to monitor major intersections, school zones, hospital zones, bridges and overpasses, and inclines.
Salt and sanding trucks are also ready to go.
Drivers are asked to use extreme caution, watch for icy spots, and to allow sufficient stopping distance
