BOISE, Idaho — CWI reported its first case of coronavirus Tuesday evening.

In an alert, the community college says a student on its Boise campus told their instructor they tested positive for COVID-19.

Here's the alert:

A College of Western Idaho(CWI) student has reported testing positive for coronavirus. The student first reported this to their instructor, which was then reported to leadership earlier today. The student’s last visit on campus was on March 10 and was in the Boise Center, Pintail (APIN) Building. The College reached out to Central District Health and they communicated this unconfirmed case is now outside of the two-week contamination window. Though the risk is low, anyone who believes they may have come into contact or are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19, should alert their health care provider. As more and more cases throughout Idaho are being reported, we want to communicate COVID-19 Reporting Protocols for CWI.
