Dozens of cyclists showed up at Cyclebar in Meridian early this morning to raise hundreds of dollars for the Fraternal Order of Police Benevolent Fund.

Cyclebar's official opening is November 30th, 2016 -- but JP Green, the Cyclebar owner, had befriended BPD officer Kevin Holtry who was shot November 11th by a suspect, and Green was moved to help the department immediately.

He decided to host 3 stationary cycling events today to raise money for officer Holtry and BPD's benevolent fund.

"We're very fortunate to have a community that supports us in what we do," said Mattie Chally, a Patrolman with the Boise Police Department who cycled today. "There are so many benefits going on for our police department. It's very touching."

Around 150 cyclists showed up today, and the donation jar will be at the front desk until November 30th, 2016.

Green says there are more charity events coming including a cycle for the Idaho Food Bank tomorrow, November 24, 2016, which may be found here.
