UPDATE:

The Owyhee County Sheriff’s Office says the pilot killed in a single-engine plane crash Sunday is believed to be 71-year-old Craig Wolter, according to a news release.

The Beach Bonanza SE-35 plane crashed shortly after takeoff from the Skypark runway near Givens Hot Springs around 3:00 p.m. Sunday.

The cause of the crash is being investigated by both the NTSB and the FAA.

Officials with Owyhee County confirm a small plane crashed near Melba around 3:00 p.m. Sunday, killing one man.

The crash site was less than a mile from Sunrise Skypark Airport in Melba, but officials have not confirmed where the airplane was traveling to or from.

Reports indicate the plane had a single occupant inside at the time of the crash.
