BOISE — Disability advocates are hosting the annual Fred Riggers Disability Awareness day at the Capitol from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the first-floor rotunda.

The event is sponsored by the Consortium for Idahoans with Disabilities (CID). CID is presenting Stephen Graci with the Marilyn Sword Award for his advocacy to improve the lives of Idahoans with disabilities to children mental health services.

People will be able to meet with local legislators and learn about the legislative process and advocate for people with disabilities. There will be display tables with information about resources available to Idahoans with disabilities. A photo booth is available to get your picture with friends, family, and senators. An awards ceremony is set to begin at noon.

Sign language interpreters will be available throughout the day.
