Posted

With the help from Animal Control and some local kids, the Nampa Fire Department rescued a lost dog that got stuck in an empty irrigation box on Thursday. They say the dog, Zeta, could have been down there for 2 days.

According to the Nampa Police department, Nampa Dispatch received a report of a dog crying and barking for 2 days, Animal Control was dispatched. The caller thought the dog belonged to a neighbor and didn't realize it was trapped until their kids playing outside followed the barking.

Animal control called the Nampa Fire Department who was able to rescue Zeta from the drain system. They say Zeta had her tags and they were able to reunite her with her family. Zeta had been missing since Saturday and her owners had been looking for her.

The fire department says they are now trying to figure out just how Zeta entered the drain system to help prevent this from happening again to a dog or child.
