"Dangerous" suspect still on the loose

The Nyssa and Ontario Police Department are still working on finding a man deemed, “extremely dangerous.”

Jose Manuel Moreno, 32, of Nyssa is accused of assaulting a woman and fleeing with a small child on April 27th, 2016, according to Nyssa Police Chief Raymond Rau.  The child was eventually returned to a grandparent and Moreno claimed he would turn himself in.

However, Moreno has yet to do so.

On April 28th, officers served a search warrant on a storage unit in eastern Oregon and found what is believed to be stolen property alongside drug paraphernalia, according to Chief Rau.

Officers will be working with the public to return the property as the investigation continues.

A man from Idaho, originally identified as a possible person that Moreno was last seen with, has come forward to police and is cooperating with the investigation to avoid a harboring a fugitive charge.

Chief Rau said that tips are coming in from eastern Oregon and police hope to find Moreno soon.
