BOISE, Idaho (AP) — Idaho Gov. Brad Little has appointed former state Sen. Shawn Keough to the Idaho State Board of Education.
Little on Thursday announced the appointment of Keough of Sandpoint, who served in the state Senate from 2006 to 2018 as a Republican.
Keough, the executive director of the Associated Logging Contractors, says she’s always been passionate about public education and looks forward to serving.
Little, a Republican, still has to appoint another member to the eight-member board.
The governor appoints seven members. The eighth member is the statewide elected superintendent of public instruction, a post held by Sherri Ybarra since 2014.
