El Nino snowfall helping Idaho drought levels

For hydrologist Ron Abromovich, the hike to the top of Mores Creek to take a water survey is a lot like playing baseball.

"Basically we're in the third inning of a baseball game and we still have the rest of the game ahead of us," he explained.

Abromovich is referencing increased snowfall in the mountains this year and a snow survey revealed that Mores Creek has about 68 inches of snowfall or roughly 18 inches of water.

"Where we want to be April first is 30 inches.  So more than half the way there.  It's a great start but not all the way there yet," he said.
