Boise man identified as victim in fatal shooting near Cole Rd and Rampart St

UPDATE: The Ada County Coroner's Office has identified the victim in the shooting as 25-year-old Nicholas Tamez of Boise.


Boise Police responded to an incident around 8 p.m. on Saturday, August 10, which ended in a fatal shooting near Cole Road and Rampart Street in Boise.

Police say that the incident involved an armed robbery investigation from Aug. 9 at a private residence on the 6600 block of Clinton Ln.

The suspect was located on Saturday in a home on the 7000 block of W. Kingston, but before officers could arrest him, he ran off into a nearby neighborhood, and once he was confronted the suspect shot himself.

According to Lynsey Amundson, spokesperson for the City of Boise Fire Department who provided further information, there is no threat to the public at this time, and the suspect will be identified by the Ada County Coroner’s Office once next of kin has been notified.
