BOISE, Idaho — Fires in Oregon have destroyed the home of a Boise State staff member's mother. Susie Seltzer works in the School of Allied Health Sciences and relocated to Oregon to help her mother during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Last week, a fire destroyed their home and Susie's fellow faculty members set up a GoFundMe to help. So far, $5,233 has been raised out of a $1,000 goal.
"Susie wants to express her gratitude to everyone; she's overwhelmed by the support, they have what they need on the ground, they've been able to shelter in some hotels and hope to move into a rental soon," said Bob Wood of the School of Allied Health Sciences.
Wood says the Boise State community is donating sick days and vacation days to help. If you would like to contribute to the GoFundMe, click here.
