Foreman arrested in connection to teen's death

LEWISTON, Idaho (AP) -- A farm foreman in northern Idaho has been arrested in connection to the death of an 18-year-old laborer who was reported missing during a heat wave last summer.

The Lewiston Tribune reported that the 52-year-old man is set to be arraigned Wednesday in Nez Perce Tribal Court in Lapwai. He is accused in the death of Ambrose Smartlowit, whose body was found June 9.

According to Nez Perce Tribal Police, Smartlowit was reported missing June 8 while working for Boyer Farms. Preliminary autopsy results show he died of heatstroke. There were in injuries that suggest foul play.

Details of the charges against the foreman have not yet been released.
