BOISE, Idaho — As businesses around the Treasure Valley close their doors, grocery stores are still serving their community.

This weekend, Fred Meyer stores announced they will be giving a one-time "appreciation bonus" of $300 each to their hourly full-time employees and $150 to those working part-time.

Fred Meyer is also expanding their sick leave policy.

"Which allows for any associate that has been diagnosed with COVID-19, or that is quarantined by a medical professional for COVID-19, to be eligible to receive their full pay for up to two weeks," said Jeffery Temple, corporate affairs director for Fred Meyer.

Starting Monday, Fred Meyer will offer special hours for seniors and other high-risk customers from 7 a.m. to 8 a.m.
