GARDEN CITY, Idaho — A Garden City man is charged with murder, after police say he fatally stabbed a man Sunday morning.

Emerson Clyde Buck is facing charges for Second Degree Murder and Obstructing and Delaying a Police Officer.

Garden City Police were called to a home on the 200 block of West 40th Street around 6:30 Sunday morning to assist paramedics with the battery of a 55-year-old man.

When officers arrived, they found the victim unconscious and not breathing. Officers were informed he was in a fight, and the suspect had left the scene.

Officers tried to revive the victim, who had a stab wound to his neck, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Garden City Police determined the other man involved in the fight was Emerson Clyde Buck, a 30-year-old man from Garden City.

"It appears that Buck and the victim were two of four adults living in the residence. Sometime after 6:00 a.m., Buck and the victim engaged in a physical alteration,"Garden City Police Lt. Abe Blount stated. "The other two adults awoke to the noise form the altercation and found the victim lying on the floor bleeding profusely from the neck. There is no indication at this time that any other parties were involved and we do not believe the public is in any danger."

Buck was located a short time later near Veterans Memorial Parkway and Chinden by Garden City Police and Boise City Police. Officials say he attempted to run from the officers, but was arrested without any incident or injury.

The identity of the victim has not yet been released, and the investigation is still ongoing.

Buck will appear in court Tuesday at 1:30 p.m.
