BOISE — After all the rumors, the announcement is officially here: Garth brooks is coming to Boise.
The announcement comes with excitement from the country radio hosts, certainly, but also the exciting possibility for other big names to come to town.
We've never done a show like this at Albertsons Stadium, that gives us the ability to be able to do these stadium shows that in the past we've been bypassed because we didn't have the facility, well we do with Alberstons Stadium," said country radio host Cory Mikhals.
How's Albertsons Stadium going to handle it all? Similarly to the home football games with security and parking enforcement.
"We have some large events coming into our venues, so we'll take that same kind of planning process and just take it in small chunks and hopefully pull off a fun event for everyone," said senior assistant athletic director of strategic planning Bob Carney.
Garth is returning to Boise for the first time in 20 years on July 20, and bringing a new wave of possibility for Boise's music scene.
"There's a lot of up and comers, but they've got a lot of years to go and a lot of miles to put on before they quite get to that level," said Mikhals.
