MERIDIAN, Idaho — Intermountain Gas Company crews are investigating a gas leak in Meridian, along Pine Street, near the Meridian Elementary School.
Meridian Police/Fire spokesperson Stephany Galbreaith said Pine Street is shut down between Meridian Road and Linder Road.
Parents whose children attend Meridian Elementary have been notified of the leak. No students are being allowed to walk home. Buses have been delayed at least twenty minutes, Galbreaith said.
Meridian Fire crews are on the scene.

Police are re-directing traffic.
Police say a construction crew working in the area hit an underground gas line.
Drivers are asked to avoid the area.
Officials say Pine Street could remain closed until about 6 p.m. but that classes at the elementary school will be in session at regular times tomorrow.
