BOISE, Idaho — If you are hitting the road for Labor Day weekend, AAA says expect gas prices to be a little bit higher. Prices in the Gem State are up two cents, with the U.S. average up a nickel as Hurricane Laura and end of summer road trips pushed more drivers to fill up at the pump.

AAA says 97 percent of travelers are choosing to drive to their holiday destinations this weekend, meaning gas prices could continue to climb in the coming days.

The average price of regular in Idaho is $2.45, four cents higher than a month ago, but 36 cents less than a year ago.

Here’s a sample of gas prices around the Gem State as of 8/31/20:

  • Coeur d’Alene – $2.32
  • Franklin – $2.45
  • Idaho Falls – $2.34
