IDAHO — The Great Northwest Athletic Conference, which includes Northwest Nazarene University, announced the cancellation of all athletic-related activities on Election Day, Tues., Nov. 3.
"It is important that we as a conference provide them the time to go to the polls or fill out their vote by mail ballots and participate in the democratic process," said GNAC Commissioner, Dave Haglund, in the statement released.
All practices, team meetings and other athletic-related activities will not happen to allow all student-athletes the opportunity to vote in the Federal Election.
Alaska, Idaho and Montana are the three states in GNAC that have election day polling sites, while Oregon and Washington are votes by mail states.
