Gov. Otter continues supporting Trump

Posted

Idaho Governor "Butch" Otter says he has accepted Donald Trump's apology after a video tape surfaced last week that captured him making vulgar and sexually charged comments about women.

The Republican governor released a brief statement Tuesday saying that Trump's comments are “unacceptable,” but he will continue to support the GOP presidential nominee because he is the best candidate.

Otter is currently serving as co-chair of Trump's Idaho campaign.

Over the weekend, two Idaho GOP congressmen said they could no longer support Trump. U.S. Sen. Mike Crapo rescinded his endorsement on Saturday. U.S. Rep. Mike Simpson called Trump “unfit to be president” on Sunday.
