Hackfort is going full throttle at Treefort 2016.

The tech fest is just one of the many "Forts" that are part of the five day festival that kicked off on Wednesday.

Hackfort offers everything a computer geek could want including workshops from industry professionals. On top of that, for the third year in a row they will also be holding a hackathon, a competition where software development teams try to come up with the best product.

This year’s hackathon is focused on building tech-driven solutions to Boise’s transportation challenges. Inspired by a call to action from Boise Bicycle Project. Hackfort challenges developers, designers, and civic hackers to consider what software could help the community get around town safer and more efficiently.  Demos and awards will be announced at Trailhead on Saturday afternoon. The winners will get free passes to Treefort 2017.
