The City of Hailey announced in a press release the city's police chief, Jeff Gunter, has been placed on paid administrative leave this week.
Hailey Mayor Martha Burke said in a statement: “There are protocols to follow when sensitive issues arise. I am following those proper procedures.”
Burke declined camera interviews. She did say there is nothing to report at this juncture except that she is doing what is required on behalf of the City.
A reason for the decision has not yet been released.
