NAMPA, Idaho — The City of Nampa invites the public to comment on proposed improvements to the Midland Boulevard Corridor (Greenhurst Road to Orchard Avenue) at a public hearing November 4, beginning at 7 p.m. at Nampa City Hall, located at 411 3rd Street South.
The City of Nampa evaluated data from the Midland Boulevard Corridor including accident history, traffic volumes, street side parking, private and commercial driveway access and public comments related to the project. Areas have been identified along Midland Boulevard where there is potential to increase capacity and reduce congestion by adding traffic lanes within the existing roadway. An open house was held April 4, 2019 at West Middle School to capture resident feedback.
Following their review and discussions of the Midland Boulevard Pavement Marking Analysis Report, City of Nampa staff requested additional analysis and evaluation of mitigation options to address some of the concerns identified through the initial public involvement process. Proposed mitigation measures include the following:
- Installing double door mailboxes to allow postal delivery via the street side door and mail collection by the property owner via the sidewalk side.
- Sidewalk widening to provide pedestrians an area to walk when accommodating trash collection services
