BOISE, Idaho — Happening today, Harrison Boulevard in Boise’s North End will be shut down between Resseguie Street and Hill Road for “Halloween on Harrison.”
“The closure will begin at 3:30 p.m. and will run until 9:30 p.m. Lemp Street will be the only side street open, and Boise Police will be at the intersection of Harrison and Lemp to help children crossing at that location. Resseguie and Hill will remain open during the event,” said Ada County Highway District spokesperson Natalie Shaver.
Thousands of young trick-or-treaters enjoy collecting candy at the “Halloween on Harrison” event each year -- known for residents along the Boulevard going all-out lavishly decorating their historic homes for Halloween. Boise Police are asking families to play it safe and make sure their kids can be easily seen by drivers.
"Give them a flashlight, give them a reflector, give them a glow stick, put some sort of reflective tape on their costume or their clothing so that drivers can actually see those kids," advises Boise Police Officer Kyle Wills.
