USA Hockey and the Idaho Amateur Hockey Association hosted a state tournament at Ice World in Boise this weekend.

Four different divisions competed, with both boys and girls. In the U-19 championship game, Coeur d'Alene defeated Idaho Falls one-to-zero as the girls showed off their skills. The sport is continuing to gain popularity in Idaho.

The competitions bring families to Boise. Idaho Falls had a brother-sister duo who got to watch each other play in their games.

"Oh it is pretty fun I love watching her she is probably one of the fastest players on the ice she is tiny she gets up in peoples business as a kid that gets a lot of penalties for hard hits it is fun to watch her," said Andy Walsh, from Idaho Falls.

The junior Steelheads represented Boise in that championship game.
